This is the first in a series of articles on HHA about how you can become a rap music producer. This will be a guide to becoming a rap producer and producing rap music.

Why produce rap music?

Rap music producers are the ones making the big money out there. Dr.Dre, Sky Storch, Timbaland, hell even Kanye made his name producing rap music.

Even if you’re an aspiring artist, producing your own rap music means you’ll have a better chance of getting noticed. Everyone has freestyles and tracks over mainstream beats, but only you will have a song over your beat.

Buying produced beats

For some of you, producing rap beats might be a bit out of your league. If you don’t have the time to learn, buying beats might be more worth it for you. There are a few sites where buying beats is actually worth it, I’ll post em up in time.

Rap music producers make quality beats

It’s not all that hard to make a beat. It is much harder to make a good beat. Although it’s hard to tell what constitutes a good beat, you do generally know if your beat is a banger. If you’re like me, you’ll upload the song to your mp3 (or my zune mp3 player) and listen to it over and over.
